Native attended transfers in Asterisk 1.6

Greetings list,

Are there any plans to modify/rewrite FOP to take advantage of the new native 
attended transfer functionality in the manager API in 1.6?

If so, is there any idea on timescale (and would a financial incentive have a 
positive effect on that timescale ;-) )?

I have a project we're currently working on for a client where nearly every 
call received requires an attended transfer from one of 5 receptionists to fee 
earners. The fee earners need to be able to receive the originating caller ID 
in order for their CRM package to display the caller's details.

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.
