Freepbx uses the values from amportal.conf to run FOP (it is slightly
modified to accommodate this. You may not need to do a apply_changes.sh
YMMV. Try without first.

Thanks... I discovered that at the top of my op_server.cfg file, was
this
message (I am running version .23 - Jul 6 2005):
; NOTE
;
; In this config file, the following entries will be IGNORED, in
; favour of the values set in /etc/amportal.conf (but do not
; comment them !):
;   manager_user, manager_secret, web_hostname, security_code, flash_dir

So that means I had to go to /etc/amportal.conf to change the password
from
passw0rd to something else. This is different to what was specified in
the
'asterisk@xxxx' dumbme guide (ie it was no use trying to change the
password
in op_server.cfg).

That was the problem!

Regards
MD

After changing any values in amportal.conf you must run
/usr/src/freepbx/apply_changes.sh to update all the configuration files
used by freepbx. You don't have to reboot your server, if anything just
doing a amportal restart should sufice.

Hello there
I have changed the password from the default in:
op_server.cfg

But I notice there is an entry in /etc/amportal.conf:
FOPPASSWORD=passw0rd

I have rebooted after the changes, to be sure

But FOP insists on use of the default password:
passw0rd
when I log in remotely via (e.g.):
123.456.78.78:99

Once I enter passw0rd, I seem to be able to do everything you are
supposed
to do

? what is happening. I am compused
